I wrote a book at the end of last year.
I actually wrote an actual book that you can buy on Amazon.
This a dream I have had since I was a girl, to write a book, my thoughts and my imagination captured in print. And now, it's out in the world for all the see. I had a good time writing it, and I gave myself goosebumps as the story progressed. I was excited to share it.
I had beared my soul and I was terrified. What if it's really bad? What if I have made a ton of mistakes? What if the story is predictable or boring? But the pride I felt for writing it overtook any sense of fear and I posted the news on Facebook, to receive overwhelming support.
I have sold a few copies and my loved ones have given me great praise. I hope soon that people outside of my own cirlce will buy it, but I know that's probably quite a far fetched dream at this stage! The fact that anyone is buying it makes me feel immense joy.
I will keep writing, I have started a plot for my next book and I will put the time aside to craft a fully fledged novel. This is my goal, and I will achieve it.
One day, if I could do this FOR A LIVING I would be a very happy girl indeed. But for now I will work on my craft and hope that with each book I get better, my books are more fine tuned, correctly formatted, well fleshed out with engaging story lines.
Maybe one day I could even have a proper publisher! Who knows.
But for now I am enjoying the sense of pride for even writing one book. One whole book.
My story has finally begun at the age of 32. Let's see where it takes me.
